Chris Martin got refused entry to his own party the other night, I’ll have details on that. I’ll also review what I’m sure will be THE blockbuster of the summer, Batman: Dark Knight. Well, except for the Emmy Nominations. AMC’s Mad Men and FX’s Damages made history as the first basic cable programs to earn best series nominations, when the 60th Annual Primetime Emmy contenders were announced on Thursday (July 17th). The HBO movie John Adams earned a year-high record of 23 nominations, while 2007 best comedy series 30 Rock was tapped for a leading 17 nominations among sitcoms. Network fan favorites Desperate Housewives and Grey’s Anatomy were snubbed in their best series categories, but ABC’s Lost will vie for best drama series for the first time since winning in 2005. Meanwhile, Ryan Seacrest and Heidi Klum were among those to receive nominations in the inaugural year for the category of best reality host.
The Emmy Awards will be broadcast on Sunday September 21st on ABC.
